RTT: Han Solo and the Incredibly Shrinking Bear

Well, hello and happy RTT to all! This week's RTT is going to be a bit different. I know you all love my crazy random facts and all, but today is special. My RTT a year ago this week was a Special Delivery Edition, because I'd had little Han Solo the day before.  That's right, my little man will be 1 tomorrow!  I can't believe it.  BTW, if you're interested in learning how different it is to give birth in a German hospital and how freaking awesome I truly am, you should read the RTT linked above.  But not yet.
Anyhoo, Indy wanted a special gift to give Han Solo when he was born, so we found a little teddy bear that had "Little Brother" on it and every month on the 4th (he was born April 4th) we've taken a photo of him with it to show how much he's grown.  Tomorrow we take his 1 year photo (HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?).  Today I'm going to show you the past 11 months.  Oh, and so you know, the bear is approximately 9" high.

 Birthday-April 4, 2011-5 lbs 6 oz

 1 month-May 4, 2011

 2 months-June 4, 2011

 3 months-July 4, 2011 (this is my favorite photo)

Tomorrow we will take his last teddy bear photo.  :(

I hope you enjoyed my nostalgic look back at the last amazing 11 months.  I should have his 1 year photo up tomorrow or the next day, so drop back by to see it.

RTT: Happy Birthday (to me)

Well, hello and happy RTT to all!

Stacy

Despite being in a blogging funk, I have loads to say today for RTT!

*Last week at Aldi, I saw an intriguing package in the fruit section.  Mini Kiwis?  What the @#$% is a mini kiwi?  Well, I had to find out, didn't I?  Of course I did.  Here's the package:

And inside this is what I found:

Mini Kiwis!  Truth in advertising.  What do you know?  They are slightly larger than large grapes and have a similar type of skin that is just slightly heavier.  And guess what?  It tastes like a kiwi!  Go figure.  They're much easier and neater to eat though.  Portable kiwi!

*I read that approximately 1/4 of all photocopier malfunctions worldwide are due to people sitting on them to copy their butts.   Now I'm thinking of all the photocopiers I've used in my lifetime and wondering how many had someone's butt on them.  Ick.

*It's my birthday.  I'm 39 still young and hot.

*We were in IKEA a week or so ago (squee!) and spotted some snazzy outfits.  I'd like to thank whoever (I think that should be whomever, but it sounds weird), thought it was a good idea to put cameras on cell phones.  You are a genius.  It was probably Steve Jobs.  Anywho, I snapped this one.  Click on to enlarge and drink it in.

*We ate at KFC last week.  Yeah, we live large.  Anyway, I thought you'd find something interesting.  Again, thanks for the cameras in phones.  I wouldn't let James Bond eat until I took a picture.   Look at the photo below.  What do you see?

What did you notice?  If you dine in, they give you REAL dishes and utensils.  Isn't that weird?  I have to day though, that it's nice to eat at a fast food place and not eat out of or off of paper.  They should do this everywhere.

*In Australia, 'Jedi' is an official religion with over 70,000 followers.

*There is a species of earthworm in Australia that can grow up to 10 feet!

*What the hell is going on in Australia?  It's always been high on my list of places to visit, but now I don't know.

*Han Solo will be 1 next week!  Can you believe that?

*I may have shown  you this before, but it makes me laugh.

Have a wonderful RTT!  I'm linking up to Stacy and TTUT.  Link yourself!  <---hee hee, sounds dirty

RTT: Anniversaries and DWTS

RTT! RTT! RTT!

Stacy

Let's not chat. Let's just do this.

*Today is the first day of spring. It has started warming up in Germany. For me this means I will soon be holed up inside my house, high on allergy meds with swollen eyes, a drippy nose (bonus, it will also be red and raw from all the wiping and blowing), and screeching like a banshee every time someone opens a door too long because they will be letting the evil pollen in. Don't you envy my family? James Bond is a lucky, lucky man.

*Speaking of James Bond, Sunday was our 17th anniversary. Yep, 17 years and I haven't killed him yet. Or he me. Though if he were to kill me, I'm pretty sure no one would ever find the body and thanks to my allergy issues, no one would likely miss me for months and months. I'm just sayin. Wow, that went off on a tangent.

*The army apparently hates our anniversary. How do I know? Because they keep sending JB away so that we cannot spend it together. We've now been apart 9 out of 17 anniversaries (and he wasn't even in the army for our 1st). He will be gone for number 18 too. I suppose I should be glad that he didn't actually leave until the morning of this anniversary, so I at least got to see him for about an hour. I suppose we could have seen each other longer if we'd gotten up earlier, but um, sleep! Hello? After having kids I have learned the value of sleep.

*Speaking of anniversaries, tomorrow is James Bond's Army-versary. He will be in for 16 year! Holy cow!

*Apparently Hong Kong has the most Rolls Royce's per capita. Perhaps I should move there.

*Indy is so into Dancing with the Stars. He's pulling for Sherri Shepard because he knows her from The View. That's right, Indy watches The View.

*Jack Wagner is still kind of hot. From a distance. Close up HD does nothing for him.

*The first coast-to-coast telephone line was established in 1914. Just thought you should know.

*Indy is in to pretty much ALL competition reality shows. His favs are America's Got Talent and The Amazing Race. He was sooo excited that AR was in Germany this week. He got quite upset that they didn't really understand much German and didn't know that Neuschwanstein was the "Cinderella" castle. He rolled his eyes and said "Everybody knows that!" He was practically jumping up and down when they were actually AT Neuschwanstein. He kept yelling "I've been there! I stood right there! I walked up that road!" It was pretty cute.

*Sherri Shepard is hilarious. She was so funny in One for the Money. If you haven't seen that, you should.

*I read that elephants are the only animals that can't jump.  Think that's true?

*Sometimes I'm doing something on my laptop, I hit the mousepad the wrong way and my view starts zooming in or out and I have NO IDEA how I did it, so fixing it is a PITA.  I can do it accidentally, but when I TRY to do it, no dice.

*Melissa Gilbert.  How much did every kid in the late 70's/early 80's love Little House on the Prairie?

*Han Solo loves to "dance."  Last night we were dancing around the living room and he was laughing so hard I thought he was going to lose his dinner.  It didn't help that Indy was also dancing around (that's a sight to see) singing "Go [Han Solo], go [Han Solo], go [Han Solo], get you're groove on, uh-huh, get your groove on, shake your money maker, get your groove on."  Clearly we have problems.

*Apparently the US spends $203 million dollars a year on barbed wire.  I can believe that.  I think half the money is spent on all the barbed wire that surrounds the building where James Bond works.  It's a scary looking building.  What does he do?  I'm not entirely sure, to be honest.  Weird, eh?

*How hot is William Levy????  Let me give you a little eye candy:

You want to watch DWTS now, don't you?

*Dear lord.  Literally:

RTT: Butter Pee and movies

Stacy

Ah, my dear readers. I have been ignoring you. Not because I don't love you, but because I've got stuffs going on. Okay, part of that stuffs was the latest of C.S. Harris's Sebastian St. Cyr Novels, When Maidens Mourn came out last week (it was so good!!!) and I had to read it ASAP. I woke up on the 5th and it was right there on my beloved Kindle! I locked myself in the bathroom (the only place I can get complete privacy while the baby sleeps and read and read and read. I even scheduled loads of independent school work for Indy because I knew the book would drop that week. I'm either completely insane or ridiculously clever. Don't tell me which one you think it is.

Now, onto the randoms.

*Last week, Indy was walking through the living room and out of nowhere looked over at me and said "My pee smells like butter."  What do you say to that?

*Why is when someone says asshole on TV, they bleep out the "hole" and not the "ass?"  Doesn't that seem, wait for it....ass backwards??

*Apparently, Star Trek's Mr. Spock's first name is "Edward."  Huh.

*James Doohan (Mr. Scot on Star Trek) was a true war hero. An enlisted man who rose to captain in the Royal Canadian Artillery, he was with the Royal Canadian Artillery on Juno Beach on D-Day. He was shot seven times, with an eighth bullet lodging in his metal cigarette case. Three bullets shredded the middle finger of his right hand. Eventually, the finger was amputated, which is occasionally noticeable in Star Trek episodes and movies.

*I don't know why I'm on Star Trek.  I read an article about it last week.  I'm a dork.

*A while back we watched the Disney movie My babysitter is a Vampire."  Believe it or not, it wasn't too bad.  Well, now they've made  it into a series on Disney XD and he loves it.  He watched on last week though that scared the beejeebers out of him.  He was too scared to go to bed.  I, being a genius, got out a bottle of garlic salt and "sprinkled" it all around his bedroom to keep the vampires out.  He went right to sleep.

*After typing "believe it or not" up there ^ I'm now singing the theme song to "Greatest American Hero."  Anyone remember that?  It came on when I was a kid and I loved it.
Believe or not,
I'm walking on air,
I never thought I could feel so free-ee-ee
Flying away on a wing and a prayer
Who could it be?
Believe or not,
It's just me

*Today is the 100th anniversary of girl scouts.  The oldest living GS is Amelia Bowden England.  She joined the GS in 1914.

*The Oreo was 100 a week or so ago.  It did not originally have the cream filling.  That came along in 1952.  More than 345 billion Oreo cookies have been consumed to date. More than 7.5 billion Oreo cookies are consumed each year, which comes out to 625 million per month and 20.5 million per day.

*James Bond and I saw Jack and Jill last weekend.  While it was predictable and had lots of crude humor (it was an Adam Sandler movie), I did NOT know that my beloved Johnny Depp was in it!  He played himself and "Jill" didn't know who he was.  Yeah, as if that's possible.

*Speaking of my beloved, did you read about my moral dilemma regarding him when we took our cruise?  You should.

*The "save" icon on Microsoft Word shows a floppy disk, with the shutter on backwards.  Who even remembers floppy disks anymore?

*I worry that my iPhone thinks I'm an idiot.

*Living on a military post is often like living in a fish bowl.  I think the military got some sort of deal on windows and decided to put  as many in each apartment as they could.  Our apartment is 1400sqft and it has 15 windows plus 1 glass door (leading to the balcony).  That's a lot of windows.  There are 3 groups of 3 windows each (1set in the master bed, 1 set in the dining room and one set in the living room, which butt up to the glass door).  Not only are the groups of window big, they are also tall-approx 5 feet tall.

*There is a building directly across from us that also has loads of windows (not as many as us because the apts are smaller, but still, a lot).  Last week I was talking on the phone and standing near the glass door when I looked across and saw something sitting on the table that I hadn't seen in years.  I called James Bond over and showed him.  He laughed and said he didn't know people still had them.  Know what it was?  One of those old, great big computer monitors.  You know, the kind we all had before flat screens.  It was so weird to see.  It also reminded me of dial up internet.  Remember that?  Dial, screech, beeps and boops-enough time to get a snack-more beeps and boops and FINALLY internet.  Which was slow as molasses.

*Good grief, The Greatest American Hero, big computer monitors, floppy disks and dial up internet.  I'm showing my age.

*I did some Star Trek randoms, so now let's do some Star Wars!
-"Vader" is Dutch for "father."
-Luke Skywalker's name was originally going to be Dirk Starkiller.
-Nick Nolte was considered for Han Solo
-So was Tom Seleck, but he couldn't because of Magnum, PI
-The name of the planet Tatooine came from the town of Tataouine in Tunisia where the movie was filmed.
-Getting R2D2 to work was apparently problematic and the unit kept picking up Tunisian radio stations
-In the Jawa's Sandcrawler, a shiny droid says "Je t'ai coupé les patates avec des choux," something in French that means "I cut your potatoes with cabbages."

And I have just cemented myself as a geek.   Indy loves me for it though.
*Wait!  Bonus Star Wars AND Indiana Jones Trivia!!!
-In Raiders of the Lost Ark, when they are in the Well of Souls, you can see hieroglyphics of C3PO and R2D2 on the wall.
-The plane in the opening sequence registration code: OB-CPO.
-In The Temple of Doom, the club Willie sings in is called Club Obi-Wan

-In Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, in the scene when they are in the chamber with the aliens, there are mini R2D2- and C3P0's on the chairs
-Also in KoCS, in the Mayan temple, Indy comments "I have a bad feeling about this." Han Solo said the same line in Star Wars.

Just call me Geek in High Heels

RTT: Math. Yo.

Stacy

 It's Tuesday.  Yo!

*I'm still riding the Yo train.  Yo.

*Back to the Future was almost a Disney film. However, due to the "inappropriate" scene with Marty and his mom kissing in the car, they thought it was "too extreme" so they wouldn't take it.

*Speaking of Disney, on June 14, 1969 then VP, Richard Nixon was the first passenger on the monorail.

*Pull up the calculator on your computer.  Go ahead.  Do it.  Okay, now think of any number and multiply it by 2, add 10, divide by 2, and subtract the original number. Was your answer 5?  If you did it right it was.  The answer will always be 5. Always. Math. Yo.

*How many times did you try it?  Were you surprised when it came out to 5 every time?

*With all the Whitney Houston news stuff I was reminded of one of my college roommates.  My sophomore year I lived in a quad room with 3 other girls.  It was supposed to be 3 girls that I knew, but one didn't get her paperwork in on time (these are my friends, people)  so we got a roommate we didn't know.  Her name was Lucretia and she was a slice of awesome.  She was a huge fan of Whitney Houston and played "I will always love you" over and over and over (and over).  Dear heavens I grew to hate that song.  My other 2 roommates and I finally had to tell her that if she wanted to keep playing it, we would really, really appreciate it if she wore  head phones when she listed to it ad nauseum.  What we didn't count on was the fact that even with the head phones on she still sang it loudly and so off key it could make your eyes twitch and your face pucker (kind of like when you eat a piece of lemon).   I can never hear that song without thinking of her.  It's one of my fondest college roommate memories.  That and when we found one roommate's boyfriend naked in another roommate's closet.  That's a story for another day though.

*Have you seen the new Looney Tunes (Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, etc) cartoons?  Good grief they are terrible.   I'll bet Chuck Jones, Tex Avery, Friz Freeling and Mel Blanc are turning in their graves.  Why not just show the original Looney Tunes?

*The stairwell of our building (we live in a closed stairwell on the 3rd floor) was smelling a bit skunky so I bought some eucalyptus (live) to put in a wine basket to make it smell better.  When I trimmed the bottom of it, I put the bits in with the flowers James Bond gave me for V-Day.  I later told him about it and boy did I stick my foot in it (unintentionally).
Me:  Hey, look I put bits of eucalyptus in with the flowers.  I think it makes them look even fancier and more expensive.
JB:  I feel as though that was a backhanded compliment.
Me: Huh?  No, no, I didn't mean it like that.  I meant it made them look even better.
JB:  Seriously?  Do you hear what you're saying?
Me:  No...I didn't...I just...um
JB:  Just stop talking, you're only making it worse.
Me:  But I was trying to...I'll just stop taking now.

Gah!

*BTW, Whitney Houston's funeral lasted 4 hours!  Four freaking hours.  I'm pretty sure neither Ronald Reagan nor Princess Diana had funerals that long and I'm betting that in the anals of  history they will be remembered far more than she will.  Just sayin.

*It is rumored that President Buchanan was gay.

*The Skipper's name on Gilligan's Island (my favorite show when I was a kid) was Jonas Grumby.  The Professor's name was Roy Hinkley, Jr. and Mrs. Howell's name was Eunice (nee Wentworth) Howell.

*On October 3rd, 2010, World War One (ONE!) officially ended when Germany made it final reparations payment. This settled outstanding debt from the 1919 Treaty of Versailles. The sum was initially set at 269 billion gold marks, around 96,000 tons of gold, before being reduced to 112 billion gold marks by 1929, payable over a period of 59 years. In 1931, payments were suspended and then quietly resumed in 1953.

 *Giggle

Th-th-th-th-that's all folks!

RTT:Ticker Tape and Grammy's

Stacy

Happy Valentine's Day gentle readers!  I thought about doing an all V-Day RTT, but how much can you write about that?  Not much.

*I am obsessed with Faberge Easter Eggs. You know, the ones commissioned by the Russian royal family in the late 1800-early 1900's? I could look at them all day. Last week I spent the better part of a day looking at them online.

*Last week NYC threw a ticker tape parade for the NY Giants. Do you think they used real ticker tape? If so, where did they get it? How many people even know what ticker tape is anymore? FTR, I do.

*The term 'bug', when referring to computers or software, dates back to when computers were huge, hulking machines that took up entire rooms. Moths and other flying insects would wander into the machinery and get caught in sensitive parts, causing errors.

*I saw these boots on Amazon.  They frighten me:

BTW, they are ON SALE for a mere $206.  Down from $268.  If you buy these boots I'm afraid we can no longer be friends.

*I will be writing the makers of IcyHot a strongly worded letter.  I pulled a muscle in my back the other day (that makes me feel so old!) and got an IcyHot patch to put on it.  It was cool at first, then it got so cold it was like needles.  It never got warm though.  Never.  IcyHOT.  Where is the hot????

*While I do think it's horrible that Whitney Houston died, I can't believe how many people were "shocked" by it.  Really?  She was a drug addict who weighed 12 pounds.  Sadly, it was kind of inevitable.

*Have you watched Once Upon a Time?  I am totally obsessed with this show.  I like the whole fairy tale back story.  It's not what we have has traditional fairy tales and it's a little bit awesome.  Plus, Snow White is kick ass.  Yo.

*I don't say Yo enough.  Neither do you, I'm sure.  Let's start a revolution.  Yo.

*The Grammy's would have been better if Neil Patrick Harris hosted them.  In fact, all award shows would be better if NPH hosted them.  Something to think about award shows.  'Cause you know they totally come to my blog for answers to who should host the show.

*Adele.  That is all.

*Oh, Sir Paul.  you know how I love you and how James Bond Worships you, but your voice is not what it once was.  Golden Slumber is one of my absolute favorite songs (it's JB's favorite behind the Long and Winding Road), but your voice could not carry it.  It made me sad.  Of course, what the hell do I know?  You're freaking Paul McCartney.  Carry on.~~~Once there was a way to get back homeward, once there was a way to get back home, sleep pretty darling do not cry, and I will sing you a lullaby.~~~

*The McDonald's in Sedona, AZ has turquoise arches.  It is the only one in the world.  Why does it have turquoise arches you may ask?  Well, I'll tell you.  I'm generous like that.
The city felt that the golden arches would not "mesh" with the surrounding red rocks.  McDonald's offered turquoise arches and the city agreed.  Good for you Sedona!

*Yesterday, I wore a darker colored lipstick.  Being whiter than paper relatively fair, I normally wear something in the pinks or nudes, but yesterday I decided to mix it up and wear more of a red color.  I had to mail some packages and the guy at the PO looked at me when I came up to the counter and said "That's a different color on you."  I looked at him confused.  He made a vague circle around his mouth and said, "Your lipstick.  It's darker than you normally wear."  I'm not sure if I should be flattered that he noticed or squicked out at the fact that he noticed.  What say you?

*Last night we were watching CNN and they were yakking about Santorum saying that women should not be in combat because they would be too emotional, or something like that.  There was a news commentator, whose name I did not catch (I so wish he had) who said (speaking of all candidates for president) he wished people who made the decisions regarding the military spent more than one weekend in Iraq or Afghanistan.  I thought James Bond was going to stand up and cheer.

*Okay, I'm off to have V-Day dinner.  We're cracking open a bottle of Moet and Chandon Imperial champagne.  Like real champagne, you guys.  From France and all.  Huzzah! (Yo) I'll leave you with this funny sign, cause it's so true:

RTT: Jedi Bob

Stacy

Tuesday!!!  Today is going to be fairly short compared to the usually Tuesday blah, blah, blah.  Okay, not too short, but still.

*Indy recently got a Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary.  On pages 16 and 17 it lists some of the Jedi.  The last one is a Jedi that has a murky history, what with Anakin killing all the Jedi and pretty much destroying the temple and all its records.  This Jedi's name may have been Bob.  Mace Windu, Kit Fistu, Qui-Gon-Jin, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and Bob.  Bob.  Seriously George Lucas?  Bob?

*Last week James Bond and I saw the movie War Horse.  You won't believe this:

JB: What's the movie about?
Me:What?
JB: The movie.  What's it about?
Me: It's about a horse!
JB: A horse?  Seriously?
Me: Hello! It has horse in the title.
JB: I thought it was a war movie.
Me: It is. War. Horse. It's about a horse in WWI.
JB: A horse? In a war?
Me: What on earth did you think it was about?
JB: I don't know. I thought war horse was like a code name or something.
Me: No. It's about a horse. In a war. Hence the title War Horse.
JB: Huh. I didn't know it was really about a horse.
Me: War. Horse. In the title.

Honestly.  Is that crazy?  It's a really great movie BTW.

*Han Solo is crawling.  Every day is an exercise in patience.  I'm not one for putting things away just because I have a baby.  I never did with Indy and I won't with Han Solo.  I don't leave dangerous things out, but I don't put every single item away or on a high shelf.  I merely tell him no (a million times) and move him away from whatever it is he's after.  It takes a while, but if he's anything like Indy, he'll get it eventually.

*Every time I tell Han Solo no, he tilts his head to the side and gives me a big grin.  It's ridiculously cute.  Cheeky little bugger.

*The Super Bowl came on at 12:30 am here.  I did not watch.  Han Solo wouldn't care that it was on until the wee hours.  He'd get up at 8am whether it went over at 1am or 5am.  No thanks.  James Bond woke Indy up and they had "guy time."  I asked Indy how it was the next day and he said it was awesome because I would never let him eat that much junk food.  :)

*I snapped a photo yesterday that I've been dying to get for weeks.  I've always had a car behind me though and couldn't stop to get a clear one.  Yesterday, there was no one around, so I stopped and snapped it.  This would not go over well in the States.

Not so short after all.  I do have one of our cruise posts ready to go and will post it tomorrow so my blog is really about more than RTT.  Come back if you want to see our adventures (I use that term loosely) in Pisa.

RTT: Pug Pilfering Pensioner

This is a long one today, so let's just get started, shall we?

*First off, did you notice I put up new photos of us over on the far left?  Somewhere over <----- there.   My photo was taken when we had to go to a NY reception.  I was goofing off for the camera and since, I'm kind of a goof (classy, but still goofy) I thought it was appropriate.  I have one of me in that dress wearing my super amazing zebra print pumps, but again, I was goofing off and it shows waaaaay too much leg.
James Bond's photo was taken in front of the casino in Monte Carlo.  Yes, the real Casino, like in the movies.
Indy's was taken at the ruins of the St. Antonin baths near Carthage in Tunisia.  It's a bit old, but he really, really wanted me to use that one.  Who am I to argue?  Besides, he's actually pretty good with his whip (he can pull chairs across the floor) and he might use it on me.
The photo of my cutie pie Han Solo shows what we call his "Han Solo grin."  And Indy even came up with that blog name before Han Solo was even born.  :)

* Police Pinch Pug-Pilfering Pensioner. Whew, that's a mouthful!  I love alliteration.  The last line though is my absolute favorite: The dog declined to comment and has requested privacy following its ordeal.  Tee hee!  I wish there were a byline so I could read more by this reporter.  S/he obviously has a great sense of humor.

*BTW, I don't know if it will still be there by the time this posts, but there is another headline at the top of the above story that read:  Man dismembered and cooked after sex game.  WTF?  Of course I read the article.  It was icky.  If it's still there, don't read it.

*Indy lost a tooth 4 freaking days in a row last week.  The Tooth Fairy is going broke.  I'm beginning to suspect he might be pulling them for the money.

*Speaking of Indy, he broke my heart the other night.  I went to kiss him goodnight and noticed his stuffed animals weren't on his bed.  He's slept with 2 small bears (Teddy and Skokie-long story on Skokie's name) and a monkey (named appropriately, Monkey) as long as I can remember.  I asked him why they weren't there and he said "Mom, you know I'm getting older now.  I don't really need them on my bed anymore."  I just stared at him.  I didn't know what to say and was afraid I was going to burst into tears at any moment.  He continued though with "Oh, I'm not getting rid of them.  Not ever.  They're my very good friends.  They can sit over on my dresser and watch over me, just not on my bed anymore."  I swear my heart broke.  It was like watching Andy go off to college at the end of Toy Story 3 and leaving all his toys behind.

*I actually cried at the end of Toy Story 3 people.  Tears.  Big fat ones.  I looked around though after the lights came up and saw many (many) parents surreptitiously wiping their eyes.  We all knew that was going to be our kids one day.

*Sheesh, now I'm depressed.  I need Thin Mints.  Noooooooo! (I totally said that in Stephen Colbert's voice in my head). Evil Girl Scouts and your delicious, yet comforting cookies!

*Mmmmmm...Now I'm eating Thin Mints to push away my depression.  Chocolatey medication is the best kind. Good thing I'm typing and not talking.  My mouth is full of Thin Mints and I't tawk luk thes.  Plus, it's rude to talk with your mouth full.  Even if it's a mouth full of Thin Mints. Huh, totally typed Think Mints there (before I corrected it).

*Hmm, the evil GS might be able to sell even more if they called them Think Mints and marketed them as cookies that make you smarter.  Who's going to tell them they're wrong?  All they have to do is slap that little note that says something about the FDA not evaluating the claim or whatever it is and they're good.

* I talk way too much about Thin Mints.  Damn you, Girl Scouts!  Damn you! (again, Stephen Colbert's voice).

*BTW, the day after I wrote the above (you do keep a draft RTT post, right?) about the whole moving the stuffed animals to the dresser thing ended.  I went to kiss him good night and they were back in their normal spot on the bed.  I asked what happened and he told me they were lonely and missed him. Not so grown up after all.  Yay.

*After I called myself Judgy McJudgerson last week, I realized that, since I live in Germany, I really should have called myself something more along the lines of Baroness von Judgenstein.  Doesn't that have a cool ring to it?  Of course in German they'd pronounce it  fon Youd-ghen-steen, which kind of takes away some of it's coolness.  Still, I like it!  From now on you may all address me as Baroness.  Like the Baroness in the Sound of Music, only with a far less bitchy attitude sometimes.

*Hey, why is it that when you say Rosetta Stone (and who doesn't talk about the Rosetta Stone on a regular basis?), most people think of the language program and not the actual stone?  Then when you explain what you meant (because in addition to being a goof, you're a bit of a nerd), they don't make the connection between the names?  I actually had someone ask one time (we were discussing what Indy was studying in school) if the Rosetta Stone was named after the language program.  I fear for our future. Fear.

*Have you ever heard the song You and Me by Milow?  It sounds all pop song cutesy and lovey until you pay attention to the lyrics.  I've italicized  some of the weirder bits:

I wish you smelled a little funny
Not just funny really bad

We could roam the streets forever
Just like cats but we'd never stray

I sometimes wish you were a mermaid
I could raise you in the tub at home
We could take a swim together
On weekly day trips to the bay

Oh you and met would be only you and me
Oh you and me
It would be only you and me

I wish you were a little bigger
Not just big but really fat
Doors you would no longer fit through
In my bed you would have to stay

I often wish that you had feathers
I'd keep you in a giant cage

All day long I'd sit and watch you
I'd sing for you and that would be okay

People say there are plenty of fish
In the sea, baby, all I do is wish

I wish you were a little slower
Not just slow but paralyzed
Then I could plug you into a socket
So you could never run away

I really wish that you were smaller
Not just small but really really short
So I could put you in my pocket
And carry you around all day

Holy hell!  How freaking insane is that song?  Someone should get Milow some therapy.

*I realized the other day that I should change the name of my blog to Mom in High Heels' Random Thoughts because that's about all I blog lately.  Darn it.  I feel like I don't have much to say though.  I'm not a decorating blog or an inspirational blog or a product review blog or anything like that, and there are some days I just don't know what to say.  It sucks.

*However!  I realized I have many unfinished drafts from our cruise back in 2010.  The last one I posted was Rome and I still have posts from Pisa, Corsica and Ville Franche/Monaco that need to be edited and posted.  I also have days 3 and 4 of the trip to Paris Indy and I took in June.  I'll be getting those ready to go so I'm not so....boring.

*Wooden iphone cases?

*Perhaps next time they'll do one of those old Mad Magazine style folds(remember those?) before actually painting the van.
