I love doors. I don't know why, but I find them fascinating. Some doors are works of art all on their own and make me wonder about the craftsmen who made them and what mysteries might lie behind them. I think doors are often overlooked as a merely a means to get somewhere, but we should remember that they can be a reflection of the home you'll find behind them.
This one isn't spectacular, but I liked it for the details. A lot of work went into making this door.
Now this is an impressive door. Look at the metal work on it. And I love that it's red. It's one of the 3 front entry doors to the cathedral. I could just stare at it for hours thinking about the hundreds of thousands of people who have passed through it over the centuries.
This isn't a door per se, but still an entry way and I really liked it. Don't you want to go discover things behind it?
These are the blue doors that I knew to look for when I was looking for Crep Mili. They lead to a private courtyard for those hodge podge buildings you see in the background.
This door is fantastic. And so very blue. Take a good look at it before scrolling down to the next photo.
This is A next to that door. See how HUGE it is?
Now onto the dresses! There was many, many wedding shops in Strasbourg. Several of them featured, interesting gowns. I wish I had more photos, but I got bad reflections off the glass. Here are a few though.
I actually think this one is stunning. Look at the collar!
Oh, I loved this one too. Black? On a wedding dress? Absolument! Feathers? Oui! Corset top? Magnifique!
I'm not sure what's going on in the dress on the far right, but I had to take a picture! I'm sure it's just sort of an avant garde work of art (and it is a work of art) because if it's a real wedding dress, well, let's just say the guest would see more of the bride than they bargained for. ;)
The next time I have nothing to blog about (probably soon) I'll blog some photos of the buildings in Strasbourg. The architecture there is gorgeous.
oh I LOVE door pictures! I have a set of 5 door photos that I took in Brugge framed on my wall :)
ReplyDeleteWOW, that is a HUGE door. I love the blue color.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the wedding dress. It is pretty, but a bit (a LOT) revealing.
Kris
Great Pictures, I've been to Strasburg and it is just fantastic. Your doors are unreal, love them all. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHopping over from SITs - and your header caught my eye - and made me smile...life is too short to wear ugly shoes :) I love the shots of the doors, that blue one is huge, but my favorite is the second one from the cathedral - I love scroll work.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
I love your photos.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the black and white wedding dress. I have been searching for the perfect wedding dress for months, I'm not sure if you would know if the place that sells it has a website or some way to order it without actually going to the store.
Photos of doors are so intriguing. The dresses are gorgeous.
