Random Thoughts Tuesday! Not toilet edition

randomtuesday

Tuesday! Tuesday! Tuesday! Ah, blessed Tuesday. The day where I can write a post with no special purpose or theme other than to empty out all the little bits rattling around inside my brain. So nice.

*The space bar on my computer isn't working right and if I'm not really observant and press it really hard when I'm typing, everythinglookslikethis. Annoying.

*To answer those who asked last week, no, I did not google random toilet facts. Some of them I actually just knew. The others I've written down on a little list that I keep when I find things that intrigue me. Sometimes I share them with you. How much of a geek am I?

*We went on a Volksmarch on Sunday. This translates roughly to "people walk" and that's exactly what it is. You go out to the town that his holding it, register (usually a few Euro), get a card that has to be stamped at the checkpoint (checkpoints if you're doing a long route) and off you go. It's not a race or anything, you can start anytime (usually from 6am to 2pm) and take as long as you like to finish. It's kind of weird, but whatever. We had fun. A, her kids, Indy and I did the 5K route (3.1 miles) and M and S (A's husband) did the 10K (6.2 miles). The routes wander through the local woods, farmland (the paths around them) and the town. It's such a weird concept to me. I just can't see Americans getting up on a Sunday morning and go wandering along paths (in large groups, I mean), just for the fun of it. KWIM? And there were hundreds of people there. Hundreds. When you complete the course, you turn in your stamped cards and got to choose a "prize." They give out medals or mugs, which is cool, I guess. Except they give out left over ones from past events. Indy got a medal from 1990 (he's actually working on a collection of old medals he's gotten for Volksmarches) and M and I both chose the beer mugs from 1986. Whateves. At the end, we hung out in a fest tent and drank beer and had french fries. Worth it!

*I love Gilmore Girls.

*Mel Blanc, who played the voice of Bugs Bunny, was allergic to carrots.

*M hates (HATES) Gilmore Girls. This causes problems as you might imagine.

*Eskimos use refrigerators to keep food from freezing. Who knew?

*My brain hurts.

*We started school yesterday, and I've been reading and reading and reading (and answering a million questions) for the last 2 days and that's probably why my brain hurts.

*My iron is still low. Boo! Stupid body. Get it together in there. Make some red blood cells already!

*My personal trainer is the master at back handed compliments. Need an example? Here you go. "You have really nice muscles under your fat." Great. "You're really flexible to be so out of shape." Good to know.

*German pretzels are effing amazing. And possibly why I have that layer of fat over my muscles.

*And finally, because it made me giggle:

I love Gilmore Girls too! I'm still mourning the fact that they canceled it so unceremoniously.

Hilarious. But I hate backhanded compliments. They always prompt me to respond with a very sarcastic remark which can often cause problems.

I'm putting that sign up at my house!!!

I love the Gilmore's, too. I'll admitt that I watched twice a day the whole time I was on leave because PB won't be in the same room as them. "They talk to fast and say stupid things" is his feeling...

Bwahahahaha. Love the backhanded compliments. Too funny. And a little mean. I had the best pretzel of my life in Heidelberg. It had chocolate on the bottom half. That was in 1995, and I still remember it. ;)

Hope you can make it by for the Decorating Dilemmas Party tonight or tomorrow. :)

That's probably the best sign I've ever seen apart from the one I saw in my town the other week which read 'sign not in use'. Um? WTF? lol

Time for a new trainer! I hate those type of comments! I like when my Mom says,"Son, you were so handsome when you were younger"! LMAO!

I love the gilmore girls but I'm still pissed off at how they ended the series.

Also...love that sign!

I love GG too, my husband and I watched them all from start to finish a few years back. Don't tell him I told you that.

That sign is definitely true, they should post it in all public restrooms.

I'm "officially" representing Keely today...consider her represented.

I have never watched an episode of the gilmore girls but keep being told that I need too.

Volkmarches are one of my favorite memories from Germany. I think we did one just about every weekend when we lived there. Somewhere, my parents have a collection of medals (although I'm pretty sure all theirs were pretty current...well current for the time we lived there anyway).

Where was that sign?

Your remarks to your trainer's comments are TDF!
