The Gym

Ugh. I hate the gym. Okay, not really, but as I'm walking to the gym, I hate it with a passion. All I can think of is the pain in my muscles and the icky sweat. I despise sweating. I know it's supposed to cool our bodies off, but seriously, it's just about the most disgusting thing I can think of (besides feet-I have a thing about feet. I couldn't watch the LoTR movies because I was too grossed out by the furry hobbit feet). Once I'm in the gym I actually kind of like it. Must be the endorphins or something. I actually feel great while I'm at the gym, aside from the sweating. Why do they keep gyms so hot? It should be like a meat locker in there. Oh, wait, hypothermia. Drat. I know the pain will come later once I'm no longer in motion, but while I am, things are pretty good.
I have been a serious slacker over the past few months. My life has been in a state of upheaval (see all the post below) since about June (when I decided to quit my job) and I've just not been motivated. Prior to that, for at least the last 2 years I've been faithfully at the gym 3 times a week, sometimes more (sickening isn't it?). I was fit. I was far from having a 6 pack, but I certainly wasn't carting around a keg. Since I started my slack off, I've gained way too many a few pounds. Not enough that I need to go on the Biggest Loser or anything, but more than I'm comfortable with. I can still fit in my jeans, but there is now a bit of a muffin top. Not the great big ginormous scary muffins that have about an entire days worth of calories in them and look like given a chance, they might eat you instead of the other way around, but a normal sized muffin tin muffin. Still, boo! In the pics I posted from our recent trip to DLP, I look HUGE. Granted I was wearing about 12 layers of clothing under my jacket and pants (it was bloody cold, people), and that definitely plumped me up in the photos, but still. It was terrifying enough that I grudgingly made my way back to the gym yesterday and today. I stared at the entrance in extreme distaste before sighing in resignation, pushing through the doors and finding my way to the elliptical and then the treadmill. It's not fair, you know. Once you're in shape, you should just stay that way. Your body should just automatically set itself to stay fit. Stupid body. All this, as I prepare a post on all the delicious and decadent French food we ate last weekend. Irony.

I need to go to a gym so bad but have no get up and go when it comes to that stuff. I really need to get back to my walking at least. I have been so caught up in everything else(blogging) that I seem to forget, smile. All I have to do is look at my tummy and it reminds me.
You lived my dream , girlfriend. Walt Disney...Paris... you rock!

I hate the gym too! I have gained one pant size since our wedding, so those pictures of me are a lie. Add a spare tire around my waist to picture it... ACK!

Anyway, I loved the Disney Paris pics. I've been to Disneyland more times then I can count, but I haven't been to any of the others. So, it was wonderful to see the pictures :)

LOVED the castle pics too! It must be really neat to live there with the architecture and the open markets. Oh and yes, your hubby is very cute. Almost as cute as mine, but then again I'm a little biased ;)
